You have many summer options for your child challenged with ADHD, ADD, dyslexia and other processing disorders. Academic help, local special needs programs, and special needs camps have proliferated in the past ten years. This is a good thing. But The Learning Camp is different and unique. Here’s why.
As one of the first summer camps created in 1996 specifically for children with learning differences, our program has evolved through experience and understanding. We know the biggest roadblock to your son or daughter’s success is self-confidence. The only way they can rise above the stigma and bullying of the label they carry is to show them their greatness.
Our camp program has a proven combination of focused academic support, traditional summer camp adventure, and a nurturing, embracing environment among peers and professionals. The outcome is a transformation in self-esteem and self-confidence that carries into school, among their peers and in the family. Campers learn how great they are and are eager to face any challenge.
Five things that transform your camper.

The mission of The Learning Camp, a special needs camp for children with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and other learning disabilities, is to help kids with learning disabilities build self-esteem, independence and academic success. Unlike the regular school setting, campers practice fundamentals in small, intimate groups gathered outside under trees or on the shores of Spring Creek. Classes are organized according to age and the academic needs of the camper. Children are not given after-class assignments and so there is no homework or additional testing. Instead, we focus on working very intensely on the basics a few hours each day, and then enjoy all the activities of any given day at summer camp. We incorporate many different types of instructional strategies. There are now many special needs camps, ADD summer camps, ADHD summer camps, LD summer camps, dyslexia summer camps and learning disabled summer camp in the world serving the LD, ADHD and ADD child, but none like our camp!
